Skylar Arpin runner-up in logo contest

News Release
NWHU

The Northwestern Health Unit is pleased to announce the winners of the ‘Live outside the box…Step into your community!’ logo contest. Congratulations to first place winner.
Kylie Hissa of Lakewood School in Kenora and runner-up, Skylar Arpin of Riverview School in Rainy River. Kylie’s design provided the inspiration for the new logo, and was selected from over one hundred entries submitted from across the Kenora-Rainy River Districts.
The contest was one component of the ‘Live outside the box…Step into your community!’ school-based campaign launched by the Health Unit in September. Tanis Fretter, Program Manager of Chronic Disease, Injury and Substance Abuse Prevention at the Northwestern Health Unit says “the campaign engages students with a challenge to get away from the television and computer to spend more time with people in their community - the logo is a visual representation of this theme.”
The logo will be used to continue promoting the ‘Live outside the box…Step into your community!’ campaign. Look for it in campaign media advertisements and promotional items in 2007. For more information or to view the new logo, visit www.nwhu.on.ca.
