70 of 75 teams back for RRWT in ’02
It promises to be a great catch again this year!
The Rainy River Chamber of Commerce’s 4th Annual Live Release Walleye Tournament saw one of its first important deadlines pass last Thursday.
January 31st was the cut off date for all of the
75 teams from last year’s tournament to reregister for 75 of the 80 spots in this year’s tourney. Of those 5 have not stayed in the game.
Now a lottery for ten spots will be held on February 14, 2002. Rainy River Walleye Tournament committee member Lisa Armstrong said that they currently have 17 teams on a waiting list to get into the tournament. If the five who failed to register by Jan. 31st want into the lottery they will have to sign up on the waiting list and pay a $100 deposit.
Even without the waiting list the 70 who have reregistered from last year will guarantee an exciting tournament. “We will get our 80,” said Armstrong, making the tournament even more exciting and five teams larger than last year.
The tournament is scheduled for September 21 and 22, 2002.
