Letter is shameful

Dear Editor,
It was with considerable surprise and dismay that I read Mr. Armstrong’s letter to the Editor on February 6, 2007.
To my knowledge neither the previous Town Administration nor the Rainy River Record have published or alerted our community about a lawsuit that could result in grave financial circumstances for the town. It would appear that the administration under Mr. Armstrong’s watch chose to keep this matter very quiet. I still do not know why the town employee was let go.
That being said, even if there is a lawsuit pending, it is my opinion that our Mayor is entitled to vacation with whomever she wants. I am not concerned about the Mayor’s judgment or decision making ability. She has been in the position of mayor for scarcely two months. It seems very premature to me to be questioning her loyalty, judgment, decision making and leadership capabilities and asking for her resignation.
In my opinion Mr. Armstrong’s letter is unnecessarily inflammatory, potentially divisive and dare I say, shameful.
