The promise of nice weather should make fishing real fun at the annual Morson Live Release Ice Fishing Derby this Saturday.
Registration will begin at 7 a.m. at the Morson Hall or Mylie’s Place. Fishing will begin promptly at 8 a.m. and finish at 5 p.m.
Fish will be weighed as they are caught and then released. There will be cash prizes for the largest walleye and northern pikes caught. There will also be prizes for the most perch and hidden weight.
For those who are hungry, there will be a pancake breakfast at the Morson Hall starting at 7 a.m. and a burger booth on the ice all day.
Non-fishing fanatics can fill their time with cards. A cribbage tournament will be held at 1 p.m. at the Morson hall.
A social hour and an awards presentation will take place at 5 p.m. and 6 p.m. respectively. That will be followed by the annual Derby Supper which will be Ham and Potatoes Au Gratin this year.
