Almer (Al) L. Almers, 86
Peacefully on Saturday, March 3, 2007 at the Rainycrest Home for the Aged, Fort Frances, ON Almer (Al) L. Almers, formerly of Morson, ON passed away at the age of 86.
Al was born in Morson, ON to the late Nora and Johan Almers on March 26, 1920. He was united in marriage to Lorraine (Sis) Moen on November 3, 1945. Together they resided in numerous communities in Northwestern Ontario until finally settling in Morson. Al and Sis operated numerous businesses including Almers Fish Narrow Camp, Sis & Al’s Resort, Morson Live Bait and Al also worked many years as a commercial fisherman. During the Second World War, Al served with the Canadian Arm Forces in Canada, and was a valued member of the Royal Canadian Legion.
Al is lovingly remembered by his wife Lorraine (Sis) of Fort Frances, On; and son Bryan and his wife Linda of Rainy River, ON.
Sadly missed by grandchildren Dean, Kristopher, Allison (Paul), Chad, Mathew and their families. Al is also survived by his brothers William of Rainy River, ON, John of Fort Frances, ON and sister Elizabeth Blight of Morson, ON.
Cremation has taken place at Rainy River Cremation Services and a private family service and interment will be held at a later date.
