Regina, Saskatchewan, March 15, 2007 – Rural community groups may apply for capital project funding from Farm Credit Canada’s (FCC) $500,000 AgriSpirit Fund starting May 1.
The FCC AgriSpirit Fund helps fund community enhancement projects across Canada, including emergency services equipment, playgrounds, museums, community markets, recreation centres and community halls.
Since 2004, 130 projects have received between $5,000 and $25,000 each in funding. After the 2007 projects are chosen, FCC will have contributed a total of $1.8 million to communities through the FCC AgriSpirit Fund.
FCC is currently announcing the successful recipients of the 2006-07 FCC AgriSpirit Fund.
Community leaders and volunteers from across the country are encouraged to review the eligibility criteria and apply for funding online at www.AgriSpirit.ca. Applications will be accepted between May 1 and June 15, 2007. FCC will announce the selected projects in November and December 2007.
