Terri Anne Lundgren has officially been named the Branch Manager for the Rainy River Northern Lights Credit Union.
Lundgren, 34, has been at the branch for nearly 10 years, starting as a Member Services Representative when the newly built branch opened its doors in October of 1997. It was not long after she started that she began taking courses and training to move up the ladder at NLCU. In 1998 she took her first lending course and in no time she was handling personal loans and mortgages.
Lundgren was promoted to Acting Branch Manager after long time manager Orest Gushulak retired. She served in that capacity for five weeks and then on April 23, 2007 she became the new full time Branch Manager.
While she has been very busy with her new job doing loans, mortgages and handling investments for members, Lundgren said she believes strongly in teamwork and said Monday, “If it is slow (for me) and they are busy on the line I will be out there helping them. It is a nice way to see what is going on with members and to find ways to help them.”
Because she has taken over the reins at the branch that left her previous position empty. To fill that gap Shona Nordberg is being promoted and has begun to take courses to train her to do loans, mortgages and sell investments such as mutual funds and RRSPs. Moving up to full time on the Member Services line will be Rachel Marquis and the NLCU has hired a summer student to help them out.
Lundgren said that she has been very excited to be a part of the NLCU over the years. Most recently she was ecstatic when the NLCU announced its profit sharing with its members. “We are member owned. When we make a profit the members do too.”
This Thursday the new manager and her staff will be hosting a special customer service and meet the new manager lunch. Free hot dogs and smokies will be served from 11:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. “People do not need to be a member to come and visit with us,” explained Lundgren, “And for every new account opened they will entered to win one year free safety deposit box rental.”
They are also offering anyone who takes out a mortgage from now to year’s end a chance to win six months of no service charges.
