Olson wins Bergland Pokerma with four aces

Bergland Pokerama was a success again this year with some 57 hands being sold for the annual poker rally.
Organizer Sheila Gate said that the snow storm the previous Saturday ment they could have, “A real poker rally!” In past years the lack of snow meant the rally had to be conducted by automobile instead of snowmobiles. Gate said all but three people went on sleds and reported that the trails to Nestor Falls and Rainy River were good. The other three went via limousine to Nestor Falls.
The big winner for the day was James Olson who had four aces and won $100 plus a trophy! Second place went to Margaret Kreger who had a full house.
She received $70 plus a trophy. Third went to Troy Kreger who had a flush.
He received $40 and a trophy. Sheila Gate had the low hand of the day with 10 high. She received two free drink tickets.
In Cribbage there were 4.5 tables competing. Barb and Theresa Olson won and received $50. Second went to Sherri and Maryanne McCormack. The won $30.
Chipper and Evelyn Bourre came in third and won $10. The low hand went to Joanne Pierce and Gwen Nordin. They received two free drink tickets.
There was a three way split for high hand. Theresa Olson, Sherri McCormack and Dorothy Coran all scored 24 and received $12 each.
