Ivan Wilhelm Olson, 87

On Monday July 2, 2007, at the Rainy River Health Centre, Ivan Olson of Arbor Vitae passed away at the age of 87.
Ivan was the last remaining child of Olaf and Christina Olson. He was born August 26, 1919, in the same home he lived in all his life. He raised his family with his wife Anna on the family farm. He had many different jobs in his life, including trapping, farming, logging and most recognizable being his 18 years at the local Provincial Park. Ivan was very community orientated and his home was not only the hub of his family but also the community of Arbor Vitae. He welcomed everyone and always had time to visit.
Ivan had many hobbies but his passion was gardening. Ivan was predeceased by his wife Anna (nee Pearson) and will be sadly missed by his family; Rose (Wally) Bilton; Sharon (Francis) Washkowsky; Melvin (Candace) Olson, Kenneth (Beverly) Olson, William (Mary Ann) Olson, and Rocky (Cindy) Olson. Lovingly remembered by fifteen grandchildren and thirteen great grandchildren. Ivan is survived by several in-laws and many nieces and nephews.
A memorial service will be held at the Bergland Hall, Bergland Ont, on Thursday July 5, 2007 at 1p.m. with Lay Pastor Carolyn Kreger officiating. Interment will take place in Bergland Cemetery at a later date. Honourary Pall Bearers are Brenda Fletcher, Trudy Engels, Lisa Roper, Eunice Skinner, Jennifer White, Theresa Olson, Tanya Johnson, and Amanda Olson.
