You are here
Rethink who you are chastising
Letter to the editor,
It came as no surprise that the CN raffle/BBQ was cancelled. I’m saddened that it has been though.
One of the reason’s for it’s cancellation has come to my attention. I have heard that someone complained that the event would attract bikers to town.
Rainy River is a community that could use as much attention as possible. The CN’s efforts to bring people to town, in my opinion, was a service to the community. All businesses would benefit.
Whoever complained should stop and think who bikers are….they’re the school teachers who teach our kids, they are doctors who treat us when we are ill, they are lawyers who fight for us when we’ve been wronged, they are farmers who produce the food which we put on our tables, they are the men and woman who sweat it out in factories to help produce the items we use every day.
What I’m saying is, they are no different than you or me. They are loving fathers and mothers and contribute to society just as much as everyone else. So whoever complained…take the time to rethink who you are chastising and realize that they are not always the stereotypical types that TV and the media portray from time to time.
