Two men have been charged in connection with a rash of break-ins that occurred July 13th in Rainy River.
Isaac Dyck, 18, of Rainy River, has been charged with two counts of Break and Enter contrary to the Criminal Code.
Also charged is Curtis Armstrong, 19, of Emo, with Break and Enter Contrary to the Code.
The first discovery that something was amiss happened when workers arrived at the Royal Canadian Legion and discovered on July 13th what looked like an attempted break in overnight. Thieves entered and only stole mostly alcohol from the walk-in cooler and some cigarillos.
Also broken into was the Rainy River Public Library. The thieves took a laptop computer, a computer monitor and some DVDs.
They also broke into the marina service building at Hannam Park.
Lowes Lumber was also hit by the culprits. There they stole cash from the register and pop machine.
Lowes Lumber was again broken into on Sept. 1st but there was no word from police Monday that the two incidents were connected. Cash, soda pop, bottled water, a wheelbarrow and two fire extinguishers were stolen this time.
In a press release last week police also said that among the stolen property they have been looking for from the July incidents was a 13” t.v., a Nintendo Game Cube and various Nintendo games.
While Dyck and Armstrong will appear in court on Nov. 14, 2007, the O.P.P. say the investigation is still continuing.
