Albertha Vargyas, 75

Peacefully on Monday September 24, 2007 at the Rainy River Health Centre, Rainy River, Ont, with her family by her side, Albertha (Betty) Vargyas passed away at the age of 75.
Betty was born on January 14, 1932 in Pilger, Sask to the late Aike and Froukina Vanderploeg. Together with her family they came to the Rainy River District in 1949 and settled on a farm south of Stratton, Ont. She was united in marriage to Ladislow (Lad) Vargyas on October 22, 1952 and together they farmed and raised their four children. Betty had a great love for her many crafts and enjoyed spending time in her flower gardens.
She is lovingly remembered by her husband Lad of almost 55 years, her children Jim; Helena (Ken) McKinley all of London, Ont; Cathy VanHeyst of Sault St. Marie, Ont and Ken of Pinewood, Ont. Sadly missed by her three grandchildren Carrie, Andrew and Tylor.
Betty is also survived by her sister Marie Long; brother Albert (Teena) Vanderploeg all of the Dutton, Ont, and many nieces and nephews. Betty was predeceased by her brother George Vanderploeg.
Funeral Service will be held on Thursday September, 27, 2007 at 11 A.M. from the Northridge Funeral Home, Emo, Ont, with Pastor George Chojko-Bolec and Pastor Gordon Armstrong officiating.
Interment in Our Lady of the Way Catholic Cemetery, Pinewood, Ont.
