Donald Morrison, Jr., 57

It is with deep sadness that the family announces the passing of Donald Morrison Jr., age 57, died peacefully at his home on Friday, October 5th, 2007, following a courageous battle with cancer.
He was born February 13, 1950, in Rainy River, Ontario to Donald and Bessie Morrison. He grew up in the Morson, Ontario and Lake of the Woods area. He worked as a fishing guide for various tourist camps in the area. His love for fishing and hunting was evident throughout his life. He also enjoyed playing the guitar, cards, board games and bingo. He loved visiting with family and friends. He really enjoyed cooking.
In 1977, Donnie and his spouse, Virginia, moved to Winnipeg, Manitoba. He lived and worked for 20 years before moving back in 1997 and residing in Rainy River.
Donnie is survived by his spouse Virginia, his six children; Pamela of Grand Rapids, MI; Tracey of Vancouver, BC; Denise (Reed), of West Palm Beach, FL; Candace of Newton, KS; Donald Riel of Osseo, MN; Amanda of Duluth MN; six grandchildren: Justin, Jordan, Phoneix, Joaquin (Gonzalez), Jessica (Gonzalez), Jada (Gonzalez); five sisters, Elizabeth Detweiler, Donna Prince, Karol Morrison, Barbara Reardon, Joyce Smith; four brothers, Fred, Reggie, Robert, Tim; his mother Bessie Morrison, of Rainy River. He is further survived by numerous nieces and nephews, great nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by one daughter, Tina, 1972, and his father, Donald Morrison Sr., 1987.
Funeral services for Donald Morrison Jr., were held at 10:30 a.m. today, October 10th, 2007 at the Big Grassy Community Hall, Morson, Ontario. Pastor Wally Detweiler Sr. will officiate. Interment will be at the Bergland Cemetery in Bergland, Ontario.
Honourary Pallbearers: Ian Detweiler, Darren Prince, Ashton Reardon, Ryan Morrison, Wallace Detweiler, Jr. Buck Morrison, Leonard Morrison.
Pallbearers are Louis Kirkrude, Robert Handorgan, William Handorgan, Roy Tom, Wesley Debungie, Tony Reed, Melvin Morrison and Lesley Morrison.
