Edward Norman Evans, 69

Norman was born on November 8, 1937, in Rainy River, Ontario, Canada to Ebenezer and Mary Evans. He was raised in Rainy River and graduated from Rainy River High School. He received a BA Degree from the University of Minnesota. Following his education he served two years in the United States Army.
Norman worked in Minneapolis and Chicago before moving to Grinnell, Iowa in February 1976. While living in Grinnell he worked in the Direct Underwriting Department of Grinnell Mutual Reinsuance Company. He completed the General Insurance Program, the Underwriting Program and received his CPCU certification. He retired in April of 2004.
Norman was a member of St. Mary’s Catholic Church and enjoyed his daily walks, reading and cheering on the Chicago Cubs and the Iowa Hawkeyes. He also enjoyed the company of his cat, “Peaches”.
Survivors include his brother, James Evans of Thunder Bay, Ontario; and several nieces and nephews.
Norman died on Saturday, September 22, 2007, at his home in Grinnell. He was 69 years of age, and he was preceded i n death by his parents and one sister, Ethel Denard.
Burial of Norm’s ashes will take place in Rainy River at a later date.
