Marjorie Byrnes, 85

On the 11th day of the 11th month, Marjorie Byrnes passed away peacefully at Rainy River Health Centre Extended Care. Marjorie was born February 16, 1922 to parents Clarence and Ebba Pederson. She lived most of her life in Rainy River with some time spent in Winnipeg, Thunder Bay and Calgary. Predeceased by her loving husband John Delaney Byrnes in 2001, she leaves behind: daughters Kristen Dulac of Minneapolis, Susanne Marquardt of Toronto and Donna Haglund of Orgeon, brothers Rey Pederson and wife Agnes of Montana and Hillery Pederson of Guelph, Ontario, grandchildren Chantal Devane, Mark DuLac and Jay Stapleton, great-grandchildren Alec, Peyton and Delaney-Grace.

Marjorie persevered through difficult times with magnificent determination. She raised her three daughters as a single mother from 1959 to 1971, working at The Foodway and later at the local CIBC. Marjorie was a member of the United Church and of the Rebekah Lodge.

A memorial Service will be held for family and friends in the Common Room of the Extended Care Unit at Rainy River Health Centre on Thursday, November 15, at 2:00 p.m. Online condolences can be sent to northridgefuneralhome.com.
