Aileen Marjory (Drader) Nordin, 82

Aileen Nordin was born 10 November 1925 in Empress Alberta, the daughter of William Drader and Mabel Swanson, the third of their sixth children.
She grew up and attended school in Lacombe Alberta. In 1943 she enlisted in the Royal Canadian Air Force where she met Emmanuel (Mannie) Nordin.
They were married 22 August 1946 in Winnipeg and settled in Rainy River.
She was active in the Knox United Church a 4H leader and a long time member of the Lake of the Woods Chapter of the Eastern Star, Miriam Rebekah Lodge and the Royal Canadian Legion Branch 54. She worked as the
secretary at McCrossen Tovel School in Bergland and as a receptionist at the Rainy River Clinic after their children were grown.
She was predeseased by her brother Robert and sisters Dorothy Sawyer and Emily Batsch. She is survived by her brother Joseph and sister Marilyn, her husband of 61 years Emmanuel Nels Nordin, her children Rick, David,
Pat and Lori, nine grandchildren and two great grandchildren.
Aileen and Mannie lived for 50 years at 205 Second Street. She had resided in Rainycrest since 2001. She passed away peacefully 9 December 2007 a few days after suffering a stroke.

Services were held on Thursday, December 13, 2007 from the Knox United Church in Rainy River with Barb Miller officiating.
