Christian Parents Association celebrates 20th Anniversary

Milt Guba

After more than 20 years Christian Parent’s Association is still alive and well.
At a recent meeting, Mark Mast read a 1980 newspaper article about the first days of CPA. “The concerns at that time were,” about the education children are receiving in the elementary and high school system that may at times run contrary to Judeo-Christian ethics and moral values. (RR Record April 1980). The charter members were committed to working within the system as much as possible as well as remaining constructive and positive in action.
The devotional at the meeting in March concentrated on seeking the Lord’s will and plans for the future of CPA. To facilitate that, a future plan and a questionnaire have been mailed to all CPA members.
Spring is here and it is time for CPA’s biannual constituency meeting. There will be a brief and reports given by Mark Mast for CPA at large and representatives for Sturgeon Creek Alternative Program (SCAP). Items on the short agenda include election of CPA executive, ratification of CPA budget, as well as an update on school busing and the high school trip for SCAP.
