Margaret Archie, 51

Margaret Archie passed away on Monday, January 14, 2008 at the Victoria Hospital in Winnipeg, MB at the age of 51.
She was born on September 25, 1956 in Rainy River, Ontario. She was raised at Big Grassy First Nation moving to Winnipeg in the early 1970’s. She worked at various camps during the summer and then attended the Red River Community College in Winnipeg. Margaret was a very social person who loved to visit with family and friends. She also enjoyed dancing, sewing, beadwork and reading. She resided at the Central Park Lodges in Winnipeg for many years; her family is grateful to the nurses for her care.
Margaret leaves behind her sons Robin, Jesse and George; father James; brothers Perry and James; sisters Sally, Virginia and Verna as well as numerous nieces and nephews.
She was predeceased by her mother Maggie.
A wake was held on Friday, January 18, 2008 from 3 p.m. at the Big Grassy First Nation Gymnasium.
A traditional funeral service was held on Saturday, January 19, 2008 at 10 a.m. at the Big Grassy First Nation Gymnasium. Elder Gilbert Smith will officiate with interment in the Big Grassy First Nation Cemetery.
The pallbearers will be Derek Archie, Darrell Archie, Tim Archie, Jaime Archie, Tyler Archie, Wes Debungie and Patrick Tom.
