Margaret Mary Thompson, 82

Margaret Mary Thompson, age 82, of Fort Frances, ON passed away on Wednesday February 21, 2008 at Rainycrest Home For The Aged.
She was born on May 14, 1925 in Rainy River, ON to Vern and Mary Hamilton. She was raised in Rainy River, living there most of her life.
She was united in marriage to Victor Thompson on March 4, 1946 and together they raised their family in Rainy River.
Margaret was very involved in her community serving with the Royal Canadian Legion Major Hughes Branch Ladies Auxiliary Order of the Eastern Star, Rainy River Town Council, the Board of Rainycrest and was a Charter Member of the Multicultural Society.
She also enjoyed scrap booking and history.
Margaret moved to Fort Frances in 1995 following the passing of her husband to be closer to family.
Margaret was predeceased by her husband Victor on December 15, 1994; father Vern; mother Mary; stepfather Bill Doupe; brother Joseph F. Hamilton; sisters Verene Peterson, Madeline Hamilton, Helen Ricci and Rosemary Henrickson.
She is survived by her sons Robert and wife Barbara of Red Lake, ON, George and wife Clara of Balmertown, ON, and William and wife Frances of Edmonton, AB; daughters Vicky and husband Lorne Whalen and Laurel and husband Ken Perry all of Fort Frances; 11 grandchildren, 13 great grandchildren and many nieces and nephews.
A prayer service was held on Friday February 22, 2008 at 7 p.m. at Green Funeral Home in Fort Frances, ON.
A memorial mass was held on Saturday February 23, 2008 at 10:30 a.m. at Our Lady of Good Counsel Roman Catholic Church in Rainy River, Ontario with Father Dan Debano officiating.
Cremation has taken place and interment at the Forest Lawn Cemetery in Rainy River, Ontario.
The honourary pallbearers were her grandchildren; Randall Thompson, Pam Thompson, Robbie Thompson, Angie Godin, Terri Spicer, Jennifer Mounk, LeeAnn Gillis, Tanya Thompson, Sheldon Bourass, Kenny Perry and Lorraine Bolen.
