Dorothea Myrna Engebretsen, (nee Kirzy), 91

In loving memory of our dear mother Dorothea Myrna Engebretsen who passed away peacefully in the early hours of February 19, 2008 at her retirement home in Penticton, BC. Like her father, she acquired pneumonia after breaking her hip.
Dorothea was born to John and Ina Kirzy in Blue Township on September 4, 1916 where she grew up with four sisters – Agnes, Eva, Mary and Grace – and one brother, Edward. Her life with Clarence was spent on the farm they established in Blue Township until their move to Rainy River in 1980, where they enjoyed retirement with many friends. After Clarence passed away in 1993, Dot lived in Selkirk, MB and more recently Penticton, BC
Her sister Mary Crawford, son Allan and daughter Gail, six grandchildren, 12 great grandchildren and several great-great grandchildren survive her passing. Her daughter Carol Ann Dorothea predeceased her in 1990.
Dot - or Dotty – will always be remembered for her kindness, loving generosity and the “green thumb” she inherited from her father. A memorial will be held for her in Rainy River next summer.
