Four men from two local volunteer fire departments are off to the Canadian National Firemen's Curling Championships this week.
The ten day event in Richmond, B.C. begins this Friday and team skip Tim Nordin said Monday, "It is set up just like the Brier."
Teams from all across Canada will be there competing for the National Title.
Nordin along with Dale Morrison at Third are representing Rainy River's Fire Dept. and Dave Seguin at Second and Dale Ossachuk at Lead are representing Dawson's Fire Dept.
This is the foursome's second straight trip to the National's, representing Northern Ontario. Last year the team lost in a tie-breaker that had they won would have seen them make the Page Playoffs. They are hoping to improve on that record this year.
They will compete in round-robin play for about a week. The playoffs start Friday, Apr. 4th.
