This weekend the merchants in Rainy River will be lowering prices to the point where everyone will think they are mad as Merchant Madness Days are held June 7 and 8.
Friday things will kick off with sidewalk sales at downtown and other business locations throughout the community. Many businesses will be holding in store draws and offering super deals on products. The Rainy River Public Library has invited the public to come in and see what is new there both Friday and Saturday.
That evening the Rainy River Recreation Board will kick-off its annual Sore Arm slow-pitch tournament and beer gardens. It will run three days and last minute teams should call Monique at the rec. center (852-4446).
Saturday morning merchants will again move their wares out onto the sidewalk and offer big savings on many products.
At 10 a.m. the Rainy River Farmers Market will host a giant flea market. Anyone wishing to rent a table to sell flea market items can do so by contacting Norma Blight 852-3650.
At 5 p.m. the Rec. Board will be hosting a homemade barbecued burger supper with salad on the side. That will take place near the ball diamonds.
At 8 p.m. there will be a smear tournament in the community centre dance hall. Entries will be accepted at the door.
