Spring season officially here as Rainy River opens

A sight for sore eyes

While many people were predicting the ice would not be out for another week or so, the strong east winds Thursday and Friday, combined with warmer temperatures saw the Rainy River open up in front of the Town of Rainy River early Friday morning, April 11, 2008. In what seemed like a long and drawn out spring, it was a sight for sore eyes.
