Red Hatters travel to Stratton for some exercise fun

With exercise mats in tow, on Tues. April 29th the Les Rouge Rogues, (local chapter of the Red Hat Society), motored to Stratton for their latest Rendez-vous. Our Lady of the Way School gymnasium became quite colourful as the ladies, in red and purple garb, lowered to the mats for an hour of senior Yoga exercises, led by Nancy Fretter. As if the exercises weren’t humourous enough, our Lady Dolly of La Tea Da (Dawn Jarvis) entertained us with her musings of old biddy jokes. Following our vigorous workout, the Country Corner Café, decorated with purple and adorned with bouquets of fresh carnations & baby’s breath, became the back drop for a wonderful turkey buffet meal by owner, Gary Jolicoeur. Following decadent chocolates and a Dreamsicle Pie dessert created by Nancy, the girls relaxed for the draws. The door prize of Henrietta & Velma Foxie Ladies was won by Elsie Morrison, and flower bouquets went out to Ruth Holt, Janet Schaaf, Jean Lauzon, Jean Bernst, Elsie Gerula and Susan Douglas. Thanks to our hostesses, Jan Lee, Nancy Fretter, and Charlene Gustafson for a fun day!
Looking ahead: Our 10th Red Hat Society birthday bash in Fort Frances is now scheduled for May 17th since the snow storm caused a delay in the plans. Please call Dawn Jarvis for further information.
Our usual noon luncheon is cancelled for May 6th. Ladies planning the May event will meet that day instead at the Roadside Restaurant at noon.
We are heading to Stillwater, Mn., for our spa event from May 13th -15th. For more information please contact Dawn Jarvis, our co-ordinator, for this trip.
Our May Rendez-vous, “Just Clownin’ Around, is scheduled for Tues. May 20th at 5 p.m. at Mom’s Chinese Restaurant in Rainy River. Sign up at the Record Office until Thurs. May 15th.
