Keep those memories alive grads

Graduation marks the beginning and the end of two very important times in our lives.
From the time we are four or five years old we spend a great deal of our time with the same people. From Junior Kindergarten to Grade 12 we spend our work days with our classmates. We learn together and grow together.
We go on field trips together, we sing together and we play sports together. After school we often hang around together and learn some of life's other lessons not taught in school together. Then all of a sudden the brakes are slammed and we graduate. Some of us stay in touch with each other forever, some even get married to each other. But some of those people will rarely or even never cross our paths again.
That seems like a cruel joke, but it is a fact that so many of us have had to live with for generations. Often that sad moment haunts people for the summer as they await their post secondary school careers to begin or for a full time job to come their way.
But then fall comes and those new beginnings start. They are full of new faces and new experiences. They are fun and exciting and soon the sadness of graduation fades and only the good memories and experiences are remembered from high school life.
Two to four years pass for most people and then they graduate all over again leaving their friends from the past four years behind. New experiences then bring new excitement and again the sadness of leaving the past behind fades to good memories. Life is full of great learning experiences, graduations, and more experiences. Even retirement is like a graduation. So graduates don't let the sadness of separation get you down. New and exciting things always lie ahead. All you have to do is move forward thinking positively; all the while keeping those good memories alive.
Until then,
Ken
