RR O.P.P. building damaged by sprinkler system

The Rainy River O.P.P. detachment was all wet last week when the sprinkler system malfunctioned.
Some time over the weekend of June 27-29th the sprinkler system in the fairly new detachment building on Hwy. 11 in Rainy River malfunctioned in the attic. I caused extensive damage to parts of the facility.
According to Community Services Officer Anne McCoy, the constables room was still functional and policing was not affected in Rainy River. “The only thing that would have been affected would have been if there was a prisoner. If that happened we would have taken them to Fort Frances for detaining.”
In the mean time contractors were on the scene and removed all the insulation from the attic and began the task of cleaning and repairing the modern facility.
By last Friday McCoy said the facility was workable.
She had no figures as to what the damages cost.
