"Tax Auditor" speaks about Squirrel Pie

Letter to the Editor,
re: Squirrel Pie last week
I am the “New Dude in Town,” the relief pharmacist (a.k.a.. the “Tax Auditor”) working at Rainy River Drugs for the past three weeks.
I admit that something humongous happened in my life during this period. I fell in love with Rainy River and its citizens! It is with great regret that I’m finishing my tenure on Friday, August 8.
Just a few thoughts that touched me deeply. The friendliness, open heartedness and total acceptance that I received so abundantly from Rainy River citizens, cannot be measured.
This town is indeed unique. The people I worked with in the pharmacy, clinic doctors and nurses were wonderful. The owners of the Roadside Restaurant where I enjoyed a fabulous breakfast every morning, thank you. The fresh sandwiches at the Quality Bakery - wow, they were stupendous! The Legion with its outstanding pizzas - man, can the hostess cook well! The CN Hotel where I had hot chicken wings made according to “Pat’s special recipe” - thank you.
What more can I say about Rainy River? It was an experience of a lifetime!
I hope that I will be able to return to this patch, designated in my book as the “Best in Ontario”.
Thank you Rainy River for a wonderful and soul-enriching three weeks.
