Emo bike rodeo was a rolling success

Held in conjunction with the Fall Fair in Emo, last Friday’s Bike Rodeo was a rolling success. Hosted by the OPP on the Cloverleaf Foods parking lot, ten riders up to 11 years of age showed off their prowess wheeling their bikes through the demanding obstacle course.
But it wasn’t all riding; there was a strong safety component as OPP officers, summer students, and community volunteers inspected bikes for adjustment, maintenance, and proper safety equipment. All passed with flying colours.
Proper crossing of railroad track and knowledge of traffic signs were also components of the rodeo. A draw at the conclusion of the event saw all participants take home a new helmet and a bicycle accessory of their own choosing. Two lucky participants also won a new bicycle.
Constable Anne McCoy congratulated all the participants and expressed her appreciation to the many businesses and organizations that support the bike rodeos, helping to keep all our kids safe on their wheels.
