Creating God in Our Image

God awakened me with the thoughts, “Man is creating me in their own image.”
Wow!
Genesis 1:27
So God created human beings in His own image. In the image of God He created them; male and female He created them.

You see, we were created and fashioned by God in His own image and likeness. He gave all of us a purpose. God never creates anything without a purpose. He put the talents and gifts in us to fulfill that purpose.
No purpose is greater than the other. All men and women are created equal. Whether we are a labourer, mechanic, Doctor, minister or Prime Minister; all were created with purpose and design to serve God in that role. Just because you are a mechanic, does not mean your job is of lesser value to God than a missionary, priest or a great preacher.
Why would God give you the ability to be a mechanic? Because God is mechanical and you were created to be just like God.
Exodus 36:1 “The Lord has gifted Bezalel, Oholiab, and the other skilled craftsmen with wisdom and ability to perform any task involved in building the sanctuary. Let them construct and furnish the Tabernacle, just as the Lord has commanded.”

Recently, at a conference in Quebec, we met two Christian MP’s who knew they were called of God to serve our nation in this capacity. God gave them the ability to govern and the heart to serve Him in this capacity. They really were dedicated to Him and to us in that role. They were walking in His design for their lives. God is really good at governing.
You see, that man was created in the image of God. However, what man does is relegate God in the image of man.
Because we have been disappointed by those in authority over us, we envision God the same way. We create an idea of God in the image of man.
If we have had parents who demanded perfection, then God demands it too and we try to walk by all the rules and regulations.
He gets blamed for an awful amount of things. Hurricanes – “acts of God”, “God gave me cancer, well maybe not gave it to me but He sure allowed it to happen when He could have prevented it.”
However, the wonderful thing is; that God is grieved about our frustrations and hurts.
He gave us free will. Free will means He won’t manipulate us either because that is control.
When awful things happen, God promises if we turn to Him, He will make all things come to good. A God who is good cannot give bad things. He cannot give what He does not have. The Lord’s Prayer says: “Thy will be done on earth as it is in Heaven.” As far as I know there are no hurricanes in Heaven, and any cancer, pain, suffering or breach of trust, abuse...
Let’s re-evaluate our opinions of who God is and how much He has poured into us.
He sure loves us.
