Hosp. Aux. reconvenes after summer break
By Irene Hanson
RR Hosp. Aux.
After the summer off, a very busy one for most of us, sixteen members were welcomed by President Myrna Armstrong to our regular September meeting.
We opened with the auxiliary prayer, but before going into our regular meeting Myrna read a report on the East-west 12 regional Conference held at Fort Frances in April. The report was not received in time for our June meeting. Many issues were covered by the 92 members present. Our auxiliary had 8 members present and all found the speakers very informative and they enjoyed the entertainment.
In our regular meeting, Myrna thanked those of us who helped plant flowers in June at the hospital.
Items discussed were: The Country song book, Audree Paulson has words for a good many songs that most of the long term residents would know, and we will work on making them into books to the used for entertainment. The Riverside Octoberfest to be held at Fort Frances, October 4th. There are not enough people able to go to reserve a table, so we again will donate $250.00 towards their fund raising endeavours.
The regional executive conference is at Fort Frances, September 20, and three of our executives will go. We have received the ok to go ahead with an extension to our Physio room, and hope to have it available by January 2009. The last item was the Walleye tournament, we will do Bingo, from 11 a.m. to about 2:30 - 3:00 on Friday 26th and also the Hook, line & sinker sheets - Thursday 5-7 p.m., Friday 11 a.m. - 8 p.m., Saturday 11 a.m. to closing, probably about 2 p.m.
Our next meeting is September 29 at the hospital at 1:30. Note the change of date.
