RR scores two more wins

The Rainy River Legion Royals men’s fastball team stands alone at the top of the Rainy River District Fastball league with an impressive 14 and 1 record.
Last Tuesday the travelled to Manitou where they defeated Hyatt’s Construction 10-5.
In a closer game Thursday Rainy led 4-0 until the sixth inning when a small chink in their armor showed. Visiting team Big Grassy conly managed to get three runners on base before the sixth. While they would score one, Rainy regrouped and stranded two more runners in the sixth. In the seventh Rainy shut them down completely only allowing a single base runner who did not score. Final score was 4-1 with Jim Chorney scoring two of them, one of which was a homer. Don Gall and Murray Armstrong also scored. Armstrong was also the winning pitcher.
