Stratton Centennial Committee writing a book on Morley Township

The Stratton Centennial Committee is accepting submissions for Morley’s History Book. If you or your family has lived in the area at some time, please submit your stories for inclusion in the book.
The history of Morley Township is a story of courage, vision, and hard work. Formed in 1879 and named after the Honourable John Morley, the promise of free land on which to build a new home and a new life lured many people to this area. In 1903, the Municipality of Morley, combining Morley and Pattullo townships, came into being. You are invited to come and help celebrate Morley’s Centennial August 1-4, 2003. This celebration will be one that you will remember and cherish.
As part of this event, we are compiling a 100th anniversary historical book of Stratton. We are collecting information on past and current residents of Morley and Pattullo townships for the book, including information on businesses, schools, churches, and community activities. Also send us photographs of your family, farm life, special occasions, businesses, or any other pictures a you feel would be of interest to others. All photos will be treated with great care and returned.
Please help by submitting your family history or passing the word. The deadline for submissions is Aug. 17, 2002. Phone Colleen at 807-483- 5330 for more information, or submit by email to azreel@shaw.ca or by mail to Stratton Centennial Committee, P.O. Box 40, Stratton ON, P0W 1N0.
