Hosp. Aux. gearing up for Christmas
By Irene Hanson
RR Hosp. Aux.
With eleven members present we opened our regular meeting by all reading together the auxiliary prayer. The minutes of the last meeting and financial statement were read and accepted as read. It is noted that both our Bingo and Hook, line and sinker projects at the R.R.W.T. were successful and well worth the effort. President Myrna Armstrong thanked all for the time and effort put towards it.
In Business from the minutes; the song books being worked on are now all printed and put together, ready for use at whatever occasion going on. The tickets for our Christmas Raffle are now available, both at the stores and from our members. There are two items on the raffle, 1st a curio cabinet, value $225.00 and second a gift certificate value of $50.00 from Beaver Mills.
Myrna Armstrong gave her report on the executive meeting held at Fort Frances. Several fund raising ideas were exchanged, and we will be looking at some of them down the line perhaps.
We will do a Halloween party for the residents at the hospital on October 31, and also one at the station on October 29th for the members there.
New Business was a discussion for our Christmas Bazaar. It will be at the Community Centre on December 7, and as other years we will have a penny table, draws, etc. The items for the Penny Table, we will have to have the cost and items by November 28th. Brigette McGreevy is looking after this, so phone her with the information at 852-4404.
Our November meeting is a luncheon at the United Church on the 3rd at 12 o'clock. Leave money at the Bakeshop by October 29th. Hope to see you all there.
