Emo Health Centre to hold grand opening Wednesday
The newly redeveloped Emo Health Centre is truly a centre for health care services. With the Emo Clinic, Dental Clinic, Northwestern Health Unit and Community Care Access Centre all occupying space on the basement level, and the services provided by Riverside which include, Radiology, Valley Diabetes, Dietitian Services, Chiropody, Community Counseling, and Urgent Care, the Emo Health Centre definitely provides area residents with one-stop shopping for health care services.
The added features include a Front Terrace, a Family Room/Waiting Area, as well as a very pleasant and comfortable Quiet Room available for family members and friends who need to stay close by loved ones while they are in hospital.
The Long Term Care Wing is a beautiful addition that provides twelve lovely resident rooms as well as a dining room, lounge and activity centre. The small details are also very apparent like the glass cases outside of each resident's rooms where pictures and memorabilia can be displayed. "They're wonderful for the long-term care residents", noted Edith Bodnar, Nurse Manager of Emo Health Centre, "One of our residents displays a book of poems that she authored and there are plenty of family pictures. There is definitely a lot of history within these rooms", added Bodnar.
Wayne Woods, CEO of Riverside Health Care Facilities is very pleased with this new facility as well. "The timeline was tight to complete the project, but we did it and are very satisfied with the results.
