Halloween parties were a success!

Our luncheon meeting, catered by the United Church Women in the church basement had a really good turnout. Twenty three members and three guests were present. Myrna Armstrong said grace, and the ladies served a delicious Turkey a la King luncheon and dessert. A big "Thank You" was given to the ladies who did all the work.
Next and before our regular meeting started, President Myrna Armstrong, presented certificates, 7 for life membership and six for outstanding Volunteers. Editor Ken Johnston of the Rainy River Record was present for the occasion and took pictures for the paper. "Thank You Ken" for giving your time to do this.
Recipients for Life Memberships are Peggy Livingston, Vivian Hartnell, Dode Budreau, Pat Berg, Joan Hall, Rose Hanson, Irene Hanson, outstanding volunteers, Carla Books, Elsie Gerula, Jessie Bodnarchuk, Betty Blight, Jeanette Armstrong and Sophie Arpin.
Our regular meeting followed, the minutes of the last meeting were read and the financial statement given.
Our Hallowe'en parties were a complete success, with 37 people at the drop-in centre, and 32 at the hospital. Seems everyone enjoyed themselves.
The Christmas Bazaar was finalized, however we are needing more help. Anyone interested and able to give their time, get in touch with Myrna Armstrong, phone 852-3243 or leave a message.
The sheets for the Bakeless Bake Sale have been sent out. These are instead of Baking for the Bake table. Bring them with you when you come. You might win a prize. There will be a box for you to enter your donation. Also we will have cabbage rolls and perogies.
In conclusion, Myrna Armstrong informed us, Arend Wielinga has donated a beautiful Bird feeder to our Auxiliary to use as a fund raiser for our hospital projects.
It will be decided in our January meeting how to best use it. Thank you so much Arend. We really do appreciate your generosity.
We will be setting up for the Bazaar at the Community Centre Saturday morning, December 6th, at 9 o'clock. Anyone able to help please come. Bring your penny table items then. If this isn't convenient, leave them with either Brigette McGreevy or Myrna Armstrong. Please let Brigette know before then the actual cost and article (852-4404). I will be phoning many of you for pies for our tea table. The kitchen staff would like them anytime after 1 o'clock, so we have them ready for 2.
The next meeting is a Christmas Party at Mom's Restaurant on December 8th at 12 o'clock. Cost $10.00. Leave money at the Bake Shop by December 3rd. See you all at the Bazaar.
