Doe tag applications now being accepted by MNR

Ontario deer hunters are reminded that the deadline for applying to the antlerless deer validation tag draw is Wednesday, July 31.
Hunters may apply to the draw using the paper application available with the purchase of a resident deer license. There are more than 1,300 hunting license issuers across Ontario. The deadline for the paper application to reach a Ministry of Natural Resources office is 5:00 p.m on July 31.
“With growing deer populations, there are improved hunting opportunities in various parts of the province,” said Natural Resources Minister Jerry Ouellette. “I’m pleased we can offer a variety of methods for hunters to apply to the deer tag draw.”
Another way to buy a deer hunting license and apply for the draw is by calling toll-free 1-800-288-1155 from a touch-tone phone to the Ministry of Natural Resources Electronic Licensing Line. The line operates 24 hours a day, seven days a week until 11:55 p.m. (Eastern Daylight Saving Time) on July 31. Hunters should have the hunting version Outdoors Card, choices of Wildlife Management Units, and credit card handy when calling.
Complete information on the antlerless deer draw may be found in the 2002 Hunting Regulations Summary available from ministry offices, license issuers and on the ministry’s Web site at www.mnr.gov.on.ca/MNR/pubs/pubmenue.html
