Legion Ladies planning a Christmas party

The local branch of the Legion Ladies Auxiliary held its monthly meeting on November 12th, with President Valerie Nelson presiding. There were 16 members present and two guests. The District Commander for zone 7, Bonnie Foulds of Kenora, and the Deputy District Commander Pearl Brown of Keewatin attended the meeting. Secretary Gladys Yeo read the minutes of the Oct meeting. Accounts were presented and authorized for payment. Treasurer Donna Ivall gave an account of the Auxiliary's finances. Correspondence was read and dealt with as required.
The Veteran's Remembrance Tea was held on November 9th. The ladies thanked Joanne Giles for a job well done. Also thanks were given to all her helpers and to the High School students who helped. A motion was passed to donate $100.00 to the lung Association. Also a motion passed to donate $100.00 to the Hospital Auxiliary for their Christmas Tea. It was noted that the ladies who prepared and served the Remembrance Day supper received many compliments on a very good meal. It was well attended and a big thank you goes out to the students of Riverview School for the art work given to decorate the Legion Hall for Remembrance Day. The auxiliary will be catering to the Chamber of Commerce supper on November 26th.
Our next meeting will be on December 10th.This will be the Christmas Party. The meeting will be at 5:30 with dinner following. Please bring a wrapped gift with a $10.00 value for the exchange of gifts. See you there.
