Red Hatters enjoy Halloween fun!
By Linda Budreau
RR Red Hat Society
Seventeen ladies enjoyed a great meal on Tuesday, October 28th at the Roadside Restaurant as the Red Hatters held their Hallowe'en Soiree. A wonderful dessert of werewolf and pumpkin cupcakes was generously donated by Sandra Airdrie of The Cut Above. There were witches, devils, a clown or two and everything in between, including a very convincing woodsman complete with her axe.
Elsie Morrison led us in a game of Hallowe'en Trivia. The lucky winner was Ruth Holt. Winners of the door prized were Janet Schaaf and Verna Barsy. Following the game, we held a special ceremony which included the reading of our Chapter Charter from the Red Hat Society. Our Queen La Diva (Susan Douglas) was asked to renew her vows as our Queen Mother and was presented with a shiny scepter, new crown, royal robe and a banner complete with her Royal Title on it. The ladies then presented her with a bouquet of red and purple flowers tied with special messages. The Queen wished us many more years of fun and frivolity as the evening came to a close.
Our next event will be the Christian Country Christmas sponsored by the ECC on November 30th at the Legion.
Times and a date for our Christmas Gathering will be forthcoming. Watch the Record for further information.
