I am in the Christmas spirit!

If you weren't in the Christmas spirit before this past weekend I can not see how anyone in Rainy River could not be now.
Friday the annual Santa Claus parade was impressive. While it is never a huge parade, often due to the extreme cold we can have at this time of year, it was impressive.
All the floats were well thought out, especially the Rudolph float by The Source by Circuit City and True Value.
The weather even cooperated. It actually warmed up a bit and light fluffy snow fell while the parade was on. Later that night it became very cold out.
At 5:50 p.m., there was hardly a soul on Main St. I was beginning to think no one was coming to the parade. Then at 5:55 p.m. people came out of the woodwork. Main was packed and there were more than 200 people at the Community Centre to visit with Santa.
The Christmas Bazaar and RR Community Choir Concerts also took place over the weekend.
With a little over two weeks until Christmas I know I am in the full spirit of the season!
It is such a wonderful time of the year, one that seems to come and go so quickly.
So if you are not in the spirit yet, check out many of the other Christmas activities between now and Dec. 25th. I am sure you will feel it when you do!
–Until then, Ken
