Plenty happening at RRHS
By Tegan Miller

Hello again from the Owls Nest, we are getting deep into our first semester of the school year and there are still many things happening in Rainy High.
The second season sports teams are active, including our curling teams.
On December 4th Rainy River Owls hosted White Fish Bay, with the final scores adding up to; the Jr. Girls ended the game on a three set victory.
The Sr. Girls played well and ended up with the win in three sets.
The Jr. Boys did not play against White Fish Bay on accounts of them not having a team and the Sr. Boys ended the sports day in over time with the score of 52-48.
The curling teams open their season in Fort Frances on Wednesday in the NorWossa curling exhibition.
The Boys hockey opened their season with a win against Hallock and the girls have played Warroad and Thief River, losing both but playing hard.
The girls play Tuesday in International Falls and the boys on Saturday in East Grand Falls. Good Luck to everyone.
The Students Council would like to thank all of those who attended their Movie Night on the 28th. The Council was very glad to see your support.
The Council is planning to have a semi-formal dance at the high school on December, 12th 2008. The students are to wear dress up clothing, dress pants, shirt with a tie for boys and a dress for the girls. If they wish, they can bring a ‘date’.
The Student council would also like to thank everybody who came out to the pancake breakfast on Friday. They greatly appreciated the support and they were glad to see so many faces come through the doors of Rainy River High School. Make sure that you keep your eyes and ears open for more awesome ideas that our Student Council has to offer.
The High Schools’ White Pine Reading Club has begun and is doing very well. With seven members and with our librarian, Rebecca Tolen, as the staff personnel the club sounds like a good time and discussion about great books.
