Legion Ladies Aux. donates $5,000 to the Legion Club

The local branch of the Legion Ladies Auxiliary held their monthly meeting and Christmas Party on December 8th with President Valerie Nelson presiding.
There were 19 members present. The minutes of the November meeting were read and accounts were presented and authorized for payment. Treasurer Donna Ivall gave an account of the Auxiliary's finances. Correspondence was read and dealt with as required.
Valerie reported that the Chamber of Commerce supper held in Nov was a success with everyone saying the meal was excellent. Beaty thanked the members who helped with this occasion. A letter was received from Deer Lodge Foundation requesting a donation. A motion passed to donate $200.00 to this Foundation.
An election of officers for the coming year took place. These will be installed at the January meeting.
After the meeting adjourned the ladies were served a delicious meal by the Branch men. The Ladies thanked the Legion men and presented the Branch President Gerry Marchuk with a cheque for $5000.00. A gift exchange then took place which was enjoyed by all.
