Flood claims due Thursday

Claims for disaster relief from the June 4-7, 2002 flooding are due August 15, 2002.
The Ontario Disaster Relief Office, located at 400-B Street in Fort Frances is accepting the claim forms which are available at area municipal offices.
Rainy River Town Clerk Debbie Bowman noted last week that the money received by the town for local clean up can not be used on private property. Residents requiring the removal of sandbags and/or dike must file their own claims to the Ontario Disaster Relief Program.
Those people who received an advance payment on their claim must submit an official claim form, even if they are not making a further claim.
The ODR office is open Monday to Thursday from 8:30 a.m. to 5 p.m.
