Stella Louise Jensson, 94
Stella Jensson 94 of McInnes Creek passed away at home on Sunday January 18, 2009.
Stella was born in Wabonica, Minnesota on June 14,1914 to the late Martin and Sigrid Paulson She grew up on the family farm in Spohn along with nine siblings.
She was united in marriage to George Jensson on June 2, 1934. They farmed together until his passing in 1974. She continued to live on at the farm with her son Leslie working the farm. Stella was a hard worker, along with all the hard farm work she loved gardening and usually had a very big garden with lots of canning in the fall.
Her hobbies were quilt and rug making and when all the days work was done she would pick up a good book to read...she loved reading and that was her real way of relaxing. And she continued on with that until her eye sight got to poor.
She was an early member of the Ladies Aid & member of the Women’s Institute for years. She was also one of the oldest members of the McInnes Creek Chapel.
Stella will be lovingly remembered by her two sons Stanford (Maxine) Jensson of Dryden, Ont. and Leslie Jensson of McInnis Creek, two daughters Grace (Roy) Pearson of Kelowna, B.C; and Judy (Gary) Cwiak of Winnipeg, MB.
Also left to cherish her memory are eleven grandchildren; Brent (Charmaine) Jensson, Donna (Dennis) Hatch, Dennis (Terri-Lynn) Jensson, Darren (Tanya) Pearson, Duane (Sharolise) Pearson, Greg Pearson, Laurie Pearson, Andrea Pearson, Sheri (Bill) Marks, Mike (Tara) Cwiak and Brian ( Jolene) Cwiak, and19 great grandchildren.
She will also be missed by a sister Helen Wensley of Parksville, B.C. and many nieces and nephews.
Stella was predeceased by her husband George on August 7, 1974, her son Clarence on July 2, 1963, her parents Martin and Sigrid Paulson, eight brothers and sisters.
Funeral services were held on Saturday, January 24, 2008 at 1 p.m. at McInnes Creek chapel with Pastor Tom Oberg officiating
Interment will take place in the McInnes Cemetery at a later date.
The active pallbearers were her grandsons Brent Jensson, Dennis Jensson, Darren Pearson, Duane Pearson, Greg Pearson, Mike Cwiak, Brian Cwiak and her nephew Hugh Jensson
The honourary pallbearers were her granddaughters; Donna Hatch, Sheri Marks, Laurie Pearson and Andrea Pearson.
