Local men take top spots at Kenora Bass Invitational

Local men took the top two spots at the Kenora Bass Invitational over the weekend.
Pat Handorgan, of Morson and Fred Greene of Shoal Lake won the three day tournament with 49.69 lbs. of bass. That earned them $20,000 in prize money.
They edged out last year’s champs, Oliver and Jason Gibbins also of Morson who lead after Day 1 of the tourney. They finished second with 45.19 lbs. They received $12,000 for their catch.
Other locals did well in the tournament. Bill Godin, formerly of Rainy River, now of Devlin and Karl Howells of Fort Frances came in 7th with 41.14 lbs. They received $3,750.
Jules Gibbins of Morson and Brian Paulson of Northfield, Minnesota came in 9th with 40.32 lbs. They received $3,250.
John and Reuben Gibbins of Morson came in 12th with 38.86 lbs.
Last year’s Rainy River Walleye Champ, Dale Labelle of Devlin fished with Jody Shypit of Devlin. They came in 27th with 34.31 lbs.
