CN’s return to RR derailed for a week

The train has not stopped here yet.
Last week Canadian National Railway planned to begin switching train crews in Rainy River again, some six years after they ran through the community to Fort Frances.
CNR employees were at the Roadrunner Motel installing computer equipment needed for the crews getting on and off the trains in Rainy River.
CNR spokesperson, Jim Feeny, said, “The union had some issues and for that reason we have postponed the change for one week.”
Over the weekend the Record heard from a local source that the delay would be for two weeks. However Feeny said Monday, “We are still planning to implement this on August 23rd.”
He said they hope to have the union’s issues worked out by then. He would not discuss what the issues are.
