Hosp. Aux. to raise money for ER ultrasound

By Irene Hanson
RR Hosp. Aux.

Our March meeting had a great turn out with 22 members present. President Myrna Armstrong welcomed us all, and introduced guest speaker Tammy McNally, our hospital administrator. Tammy had information on an emergency ulstra sound machine that would be used for immediate diagnosis by the doctors. Several questions were asked and she answered them to the satisfaction of all.
Also she mentioned a walk-in bathtub has been made available to the hospital, however the bathroom has to be renovated to install it. Funds are needed.
Myrna thanked Tammy for giving her time to inform us on the above, and we proceeded with our regular meeting.
Our first discussion was regarding the emergency ultra sound. We have agreed to spear head fund raiser drives to purchase the above, to be placed at the Rainy River Health Care Centre, for the doctors to use on emergency cases. A committee is being formed to work towards this project.
Next the walk-in bathtub. It was decided we fund the renovations needed to install it, to be used by our long term residents.
We again will support the Chem Free Graduation Party with a monetary donation.
The tickets for our Spring Raffle (large birdhouse 1st; stone goose garden ornament 2nd) are now available at many businesses, and from auxiliary members. The draw will be at our Strawberry Social May 20th.
The Auxiliary Spring Conference is on April 18th at Dryden. We would like as many members as possible to go.
Many of our members will be going to the old bags lunch at Fort Frances, April 4th, sponsored by the auxiliary there, at the High School Cafeteria.
St. Patrick's Day activities are a party at the Station on March 18th, and at the hospital long term on March 20. There will be dessert and entertainment.
Our next meeting is a luncheon on the 6th of April. The phoning committee will advise you where. The time will be 12 o'clock.
