Frederick Allen Westover, 79

On March 17, 2009 at the Rainy River Health Centre, Fred Westover of Rainy River, Ont passed away with his family by his side at the age of 79.
Fred was born on October 28, 1929 in Barwick, Ont to the late William and Edna Westover. He began working for the CNR in 1954, and remained at that job until he retired in 1990. Fred married Margaret Mose in October 20, 1956 and together they have six children, eighteen grandchildren and two great grandchildren. Fred enjoyed helping others and was a creative problem solver.
He is survived by his loving wife of 53 years Margaret and their children Brent (Donna), Beth (Darrell), Faye (Don), Dixie (Tracy), Eric (Carla), Elaine (Jered) and their families. He is also survived by brother Milton Westover, sister Margaret Westover, many in laws, and nieces and nephews.
Fred was predeceased by brothers Don (Jessie), Jim and Bill Westover and sisters Helen (Irwin) Pretty, Iva (still surviving Erling) Olson, and sister in law Annie Westover.
Family and friends were received at the Northridge Funeral Home, Emo; Ont on Friday March 20, 2009 from 7-9 p.m. where funeral service was held on Saturday March 21, 2009 at 1 p.m. Richard Raschke, Louise Carlson, and Carol Grey officiated. Interment will take place in Barwick Cemetery at a later date.
Pall Bearers were Brent Westover, Eric Westover, Darrell Moe, Tracy Thue, Don Fisher, and Jered Stinson. Honourary pall bearers were all of Fred’s grandchildren. Reception followed at the Emo Royal Canadian Legion.
