Rainy River Trade Show set for April 25th

The Rainy River and District Chamber of Commerce (RRDCC) Fourth Annual Trade Show is slated for April 25, 2009 at the Rainy River arena.
Rainy River Community Coordinator Anthony Mason said jokingly on Friday that he has ordered even more snow for this year’s event. But seriously, after a record 18 inches of snow dampened the success of the event last year, he is hoping for great weather. “I have put the order in early and guarantee there will be no snow storm that day!”
Mason said that had there not been the storm last year organizers felt it would have been the best Rainy River Trade Show ever. As it was some 200 people walked, snowshoed and sledded to the arena to visit the 56 exhibitors last year.
The RRDCC is on pace to exceed the number of booths/exhibitors this year with 30 registered so far and, “more coming in every day!” said Mason. The deadline to sign up to rent a booth at the trade show is April 15th and Mason encourages anyone interested to call him at 807-852-3978 or email him at amason1@tbaytel.net. There are reduced rates for RRDCC members but Mason feels the rates for non-chamber members are reasonable.
So far they have almost all the food booths back that they had last year plus many interesting businesses and organizations coming from as far away as Dryden so far.
The arena can accommodate 62 booths and if need be spill over will be housed on the main floor of the community centre.
The event will run from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. and there will be a $2 admission charge with $500 in chamber certificates to be given away as a door prize. There will also be many draws at booths throughout the trade show.
