A review for you

By Gill Stamler

Welcome! A new venture! Each month I am going to review a couple of the latest acquisitions at the Rainy River Public Library (RRPL).
Come in, look at our new books and really get into reading!!
Summer is coming, lake-time, lots of sun and stories!! Librarian Sheila McIntosh will be more than happy to show you around!!
James Patterson is a very popular mystery writer but “Sundays at Tiffany’s” is a romantic escape, a story about a love that transcends boundaries – perfect for those ladies who love a good romance! It takes a fresh look at the timeless and transforming power of love.
Try “Salem Falls” by Jodi Picoult. This author is enjoying a resurgence of popularity and this book combines mystery, love, secrets and lies. Jodi writes well, her stories are well crafted and so easy to read. Perfect for a lazy afternoon!!
I haven’t forgotten the younger members of the library! “The Pigeon wants a Puppy” by Mo Willems is entertaining both visually and content-wise. The Pigeon really, really, REALLY wants a puppy. Do you think it’s a good idea?
The “Polka Palace Party”, An Adventure in Teamwork, is a must for children who have seen the TV series “Nick Jr. The Backyardigans”! It tells of three cowboys and a cowgirl going to the Polka Palace Party in Wyoming, but on the way they run into danger and lose their musical instruments. Eventually this makes them realize the importance of working together as a team. Very appropriate for this day and age.
All for now. See you next month with more news from the RRPL.
