Jacob (Jack) Anderson Miller, 77

Jacob (Jack) Anderson Miller 77 of Rainycrest Home for the Aged, 550 Osborne Street, Fort Frances and former long time resident of Rainy River passed away on Tuesday, March 31, 2009 at LaVerendrye General Hospital in Fort Frances.
Jack was born on January 19, 1932 in Mankota, Saskatchewan to the late Jack Miller Sr. and the former Helena Bromberger. Jack had lived most of his life in Rainy River and had worked for the CN for 37 years which he enjoyed very much. He retired from the railway as Chief Engineer. He was a veteran of the Korean War having served with the Canadian Armed Forces and was a member of the Royal Canadian Legion Major Hughes Branch #54 in Rainy River. He was an avid outdoorsman who enjoyed fishing, hunting and going for long drives in the country with his family.
Jack will be sadly missed by his two children Sharon (Claude) of Thunder Bay and Rennie of Edmonton. Also left to cherish his memory are his grandchildren Chantelle (Zack), Chelsea and Daniel, Jacob and Macy and his great grandchild Jared, his siblings Irene (Frank), Evelyn, Susan, Elmer, Richard, Lloyd and Ronald, daughter-in-law Julie Miller as well as numerous nieces and nephews.
A celebration of Jack’s life was held on Tuesday, April 7, 2009 at 2:00 p.m. at the Royal Canadian Legion Major Hughes Branch # 54 in Rainy River with Pastor Carolyn Kreger officiating.
The Royal Canadian Legion Major Hughes Branch # 54 “Color Party” performed their Legion Tribute at the service.
The honourary pallbearers were all of Jack’s family and friends.
